The Digital Tipping point is coming

Digital marketing is at the tipping point and insights, big data analytics and AI are the satans not the saviours, who will only make it harder for small to medium sized agencies to survive against the giants. Inevitable polarisation and mass extinction is coming like an ice age.

The big-time-Charlies know this and sense the digital dead men walking syndrome for the zombie stage digital indies, just as the independent phone and computer dealerships of yesteryear joined the dinosaurs before them.

Most C-Level folk will have little sympathy because they know the adwords and SEO game has been shearing them and most marketing sheeple for years (quick shameless dig but this has certainly been at the expense of face-to face relationship building and proactive old skool sales) even though these alleged shepherds have lacked the individual entrepreneurial skills to do anything more than form a flock themselves.

Suddenly purse string holders are waking up, seeing through the pretty charts and KPIs and eyeing the bottom line  Return OInvestment.  Shouting through the digital noise keeps going up in price, great creative content is failing to break through or engage, while a winking cat will get more views than an article that could sew the seeds for what could be the reinvention of an industry wheel.

Don’t worry though predatory Industry giants will catch that with their software while we mortals are blinded by our snow blizzard feeds.

It is time for something different before the 7 big technology players swallow everything and keep learning and earning at your expense. Entrepreneurs disrupt and create new wealth they don’t just carve off a slice of what ultimately becomes a shrinking pie.
